Packet Island appoints Telecom Veteran as Executive Chairman

Santa Clara, CA – Packet Island today announced the appointment of Henry H. Wong as their Executive Chairman. A serial entrepreneur and a venture capitalist, Henry brings a broad mix of startup, operations, and investment experience to Packet Island to power it through its next phase of growth.

“We are delighted and honored to have Henry join our team. His entrepreneurial experience and leadership skills will be invaluable as we accelerate our growth at Packet Island” said Andy Aczel and Praveen Kumar, the founders of Packet Island.

Henry will continue to be a Venture Partner at Garage Technology Ventures, while helping Packet Island through its growth phase. Prior to Garage, Henry founded and managed Diamond TechVentures, a China focused investment fund. Prior to Diamond TechVentures, Henry managed Crystal Ventures where he was actively involved with portfolio companies including SMIC, LGC Wireless, and Infinera.

As a serial entrepreneur, Henry has had several successes including SS8 Networks Inc., IP Communications, XaQti Semiconductor, CNet Technology Inc., and Combinet (ISDN Systems). In 2002, Henry was a finalist to receive the "Entrepreneur of the Year Award". He is an Advisor to 6 non-profit organizations and is actively involved with community events. Henry received a B.Sc. degree in Business from University of Utah and a MBA in Telecom Management from Golden Gate University.
