Appirio Launches Google "Enterprise Gadget Gallery" for Salesforce.com Customers – Commits to Creating 100 Gadgets in 100 Days
August 02, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology NewsSAN FRANCISCO, August 2, 2007 — Appirio, a Google Enterprise Professional and Salesforce.com Consulting and AppExchange partner, today launched the first-ever collection of Enterprise Google Gadgets (EGGs). The Appirio Gallery currently has over 30 Enterprise Google Gadgets that bring Salesforce.com information onto a Google Personalized Homepage. New gadgets are being posted at the rate of approximately 1-2 per day.
Appirio, the first certified services and product partner of both Google and Salesforce.com, originally published several gadgets on the AppExchange and Google Enterprise Gallery. The collection of gadgets quickly gained adoption by users from over 500 organizations. Marc Benioff singled out Appirio's gadgets during the initial announcement of the Google-Salesforce.com alliance on June 5, saying, "Appirio has been one of our most innovative partners in creating solutions that utilize both the salesforce.com and Google platforms to drive customer value."
Based on the success of the early gadgets, Appirio created the Gallery to extend the value of connecting Salesforce.com and Google. To launch the initiative, Appirio has committed to populate the gallery with 100 gadgets in 100 days - dating from the June 5 Google-Salesforce.com announcement, to the beginning of Dreamforce, Salesforce.com's annual user conference. Jason Maynard, lead software analyst at Credit Suisse, applauded Appirio's move: "Appirio is a pioneer in integrating enterprise software-as-a-service solutions such as Salesforce.com and Google Apps. The integration they first demonstrated at the Google-Salesforce.com announcement was one of the major highlights of that event. Their new Gadget Gallery will accelerate Salesforce.com user adoption, and will pique the interest of other leading SaaS ISVs looking to bring critical business data to the Google Homepage."
The Appirio Gallery allows users to preview standard gadgets, as well as gadgets customized to their Salesforce.com environment. Users can rate a gadget's usefulness, and with a single click, add the gadget to their Google Homepage or share it with colleagues. Users can also submit gadgets or even requests for others to consider implementing.
Appirio will be highlighting its Gadget Gallery and the development framework alongside Google and Salesforce.com at Dreamforce on September 16-18. The Gallery itself is at http://www.appirio.com/egg.
