LaZeez Pita Grill, the newest International and Mediterranean restaurant to join the multi-flavors of the South Bay, has
again been chosen as an Official Vendor for the 2nd Annual Pakistan Independence Day celebration, Friday, August 10th in Exposition Park.

This is the second year as an Official Vendor for owner Mohamed Jaradat and his new Torrance location, LaZeez Pita Grill (4903 Torrance Boulevard just west of Anza).

“Being a part of this event is a further validation of our food, experience and service. La Zeez means delicious in Pakistan. We will be in front of 20,000 Pakistanis who know their native foods. LaZeez would not have been asked
back unless we were a hit last year,” said Jaradat.

The 60th Independence Day event marks Pakistan’s break away from the United Kingdom on August 18th, 1947. The Exposition Park affair offers
Pakistanis the opportunity to honor this historic day with other Pakistanis. Los Angeles has the largest Pakistan community outside of the Pakistan borders

Aside from great food from LaZeez, i.e., lamb kabob, beef Shawarma, pita bread, cheese mashed potatoes, Hummos, Dolme grape leaves and much more,
the free event will have some of the country’s top entertainers such as movie
and music video star Nirma, singers Ali Zafar (Indus Music Award, equivalent to MTV Awards) winner, recording artists Abrar ul Haq (five hit albums in 10 years) and Faakhir.

The entertainment will also have a page out of “American Idol.” Humaira Arshad bolted to stardom the same way as Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Arshad won Pakistan’s “The Music Challenge”. She has since released her own album.

The event is managed by Friends of Pakistan, USA, a on-profit community based grassroots organization, bringing together multi facets – entertainment, food, clothes and dignitaries, etc. – to commemorate Pakistan’s independence. Opening ceremonies start at 5PM on Friday, August 10th continuing until 2AM at Exposition Park in Los Angeles. For more information or current updates please visit www.FOPUSA.org.
