Assessment Tomorrow, UK, is delighted to announce its 6th International Conference and Exhibition on “e-Assessment of Skills and Capabilities” for the first time in India on 11th -12th October 2007 at Taj Residency, Bangalore. The conference and exhibition will focus on the skills gap issue in India and how to deal with increasing numbers and the demands of industry, customers and the economy. Assessment Tomorrow International Conferences are already established as the leading event examining the practical aspects of implementing e-Assessment and Computer Based Testing and Assessment in education, training and professional development. This year’s event taking place for the first time in India is larger than ever and reflects the growing range of e-Assessment in industry and academia. The Indian Chapter of Assessment Tomorrow that opens with the conference will bring together experts and experienced practitioners from India and UK. They will share knowledge, best practice and experience of how to leverage the new tools and techniques of e-assessment to cost effectively and efficiently identify, evaluate and develop talent and potential.

According to Mr Jeff M Ross, Director, Assessment Tomorrow, “the main objective of running knowledge seminars, workshops, exhibitions and conferences is to raise the awareness of the importance of e-Assessment, in all its forms from electronic testing to e-portfolio management in measuring Competency, Skills, Knowledge & Understanding”. “The prime focus of Assessment Tomorrow, is to share knowledge and experience and use of the same with IT to measure skills and capabilities changes the whole paradigm”, says Mr Ross. The “highest form of understanding” which the ancient Greek Philosopher Aristotle had talked about is the one that needs to be showcased through proper assessment of the knowledge and skills gap, feels Mr Ross.

Managed by Assessment Tomorrow Ltd., the conference boasts an impressive line-up of authoritative speakers from education and industry. The conference will be chaired by Prof Kalyan Chakraborty, Business Management School of IIT Kharagpur with special keynote address from Mark Kobayashi-Hillary of UK National Outsourcing Association and author of the pathbreaking book “Outsourcing to India”. The conference is sponsored by world leading organisations such as Excelsoft and important education bodies such SQA and City&Guilds. The inclusion of Excelsoft and their participation has been very fruitful for Assessment Tomorrow since the Mysore based IT company is considered as one of the leading service providers in the field of e-Learning and e-Assessment solutions worldwide and their definitive input at the conference will be helpful to understand the best practice that is being continually used to harness skill and knowledge, says Mr Ross.

A very strong line-up of exhibitors have committed to exhibiting at the conference.

Assessment inevitably sets the agenda for education and training. Similarly e-Assessment will define the processes, the quality and the opportunities for the achievement of qualifications and the recognition of learning in the 21st century. The conference will debate the challenge of how to make these developments efficient, trusted and cost-effective and demonstrate the theme of the conference - ‘Dealing with the Numbers and Skills Gap’.
Assessment Tomorrow Conferences are fully supported by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).

The e-Assessment Conference and Exhibition will take place on 11th and 12th October 2007 at Taj Residency, Bangalore. For further details including the list of speakers and full programme and registration details, please check
