Billie Redmond To Speak At Raleigh Chamber Of Commerce 2007 Annual Planning Conference

RALEIGH, N.C. – Coldwell Banker Commercial TradeMark Properties has announced that Billie Redmond, president of the firm, will speak at the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce 2007 Annual Planning Conference in Pinehurst, N.C. on Wednesday, Aug. 22 and Thursday, Aug. 23. Redmond will speak under the subject of “Plowing New Ground,” delivering a report on the behalf of the Citizens’ Facilities Advisory Committee (CFAC), of which she has served as co-chairman of since its inception in June 2006. Other scheduled speakers for this year’s event include Ted Abernathy of the Research Triangle Regional Partnership, WCPSS Superintendent Dr. Del Burns, and Tony Gurley of the Wake County Board of Commissioners, among many others. Over 200 attendees will provide input in helping develop and finalize the business plan and chamber budget for 2008.

Redmond is a former chair of the Board of Directors for the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce and today serves on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce (formerly NCCBI), and the boards of the Kids' N Community Foundation, the Triangle Community Foundation, the Raleigh Area Development Authority, Paragon Commercial Bank, and the WakeMed Health and Hospital System.

Formed in June 2006, the Citizens’ Facilities Advisory Committee is charged with evaluating the Wake County Public School System capital improvement program and evaluating school design criteria, construction management and delivery methods. Initially, the committee will review WCPSS’ facility program. However, the work of the committee is long-term and also includes reviewing Wake County capital projects. The Board of Commissioners and the Board of Education appointed 13 individuals to serve as members of the committee.
