THE LEGS that launched Pretty Polly are taking part in this year’s Liverpool HydroActive challenge for charity.

Model Katie Froud is urging locals to join her in supporting Round Table Children’s Wish – a charity that works in conjunction with Alder Hey Hospital – granting wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses.

The charity has a number of places still available for the Women’s HydroActive 5km run in Liverpool on Sunday September 16.

Katie said: “I am inspired by all of the wonderful work RTCW undertakes for families with very poorly children.

“When despair and worry can prevail in uncertain times the granting of a wish for a poorly child can be an inspiration to them and their family giving them a wonderful time to remember whilst the child’s own wish comes true.

“I only wish I could do more.”

Liverpool Football Club, which facilitates some of the wishes, has added its weight to the cause.

Vin O’Brian, from the club’s community support department, said: “I have had the pleasure to experience first-hand the joy of the children and their families when meeting their sporting heroes.

“To be able to grant many more wishes Round Table Children’s Wish needs to continually raise funds. The forthcoming HydroActive run is an ideal opportunity for local people to help.”

The closing date for entries is Friday August 17. To take part email davina@rtcw.org or call 01202 514515. Full information is available at www.rtcw.org
