Norwood, Mass., August 22, 2007 – Windstar Technologies announces that it is sponsoring three nonresident alien payment seminars with COKALA Tax and Information Reporting Solutions. The two-day seminars will educate attendees on tax regulations governing payments to non-U.S. companies and the immigration laws that may prohibit organizations from paying foreign visitors or vendors.
“We are excited to work with COKALA to offer these seminars on payments to nonresident aliens. Payments to these individuals often prove to be difficult for many organizations due to the complex rules and treaty regulations governing the payments. With the increased attention from the IRS in this area, it is important for organizations to understand how to properly handle these payments,” said Paula N. Singer, Windstar’s co-founder and chairman.
The seminars will be held August 23rd – 24th in Chicago, August 28th – 29th in Boston and November 27th – 28th in Phoenix. Each two-day seminar will feature tracks specifically designed for academic institutions and nonprofit entities and corporate payments made from accounts payable.

The faculty for the seminars is comprised of nationally known immigration and nonresident alien taxation experts. Faculty members include COKALA’s Marianne Couch, JD, and Jerri S. Langer, JD, LLM, immigration law expert Linda Dodd-Major, JD, and Windstar co-founder and chairman Paula N. Singer, Esq.
