Kicking Breast Cancer’s Butt, One Step at a Time

New Jersey (August 25, 2007) – Christopher Reeve once said “Once you choose hope, anything is possible.” The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer is a perfect example of this sentiment in action. Since 2003, the Walk for Breast Cancer has been raising money to help medically underserved women and men get the care and treatment that they require. The walks being held in eight cities in 2007 provide a powerful flood of funding towards this goal and the goal of finding a cure for breast cancer.

Tri-State Area residents, Lindsay Griffiths of New Jersey and Jessica Dorzek of Scarsdale will be participating in the New York City walk in October. The two have worked together to find unique and interesting ideas for fundraising, from selling Lindsay’s pink ribbon designs on CafePress.com to an upcoming book sale in Scarsdale on September 8th. The ladies will be selling books donated by friends and family, along with baked goods, a select number of Lindsay’s designs, and other pink ribbon items. Jessica says, “I know a number of people whose lives have been deeply affected by breast cancer, either with their own diagnosis or one of a family member or friend. Hopefully one day a cure will be found, but in the meantime, this is a cause that Lindsay and I feel passionately about and we are excited to participate in our first Avon Walk to raise money for breast cancer!”

Individual donations can also be made on their Avon Walk Participant pages.
