Marvelous Mommies Launches New Group of Topical Greeting Cards

NORTHAMPTON, MA - August 26, 2007 - Greeting card company Marvelous Mommies LLC recently added 20 new greeting cards to its existing line of cards, one of which was nominated for the prestigious LOUIE award. Marvelous Mommies creates and distributes a line of topical greeting cards that captures the real-life experience of life with children.

Among the company's new offerings is the LOUIE-nominated card "Love what you've done with the place." The card shows two women and a single toddler in a room that has been childproofed by bolting everything to the walls three feet off the floor.

"The card gets a laugh from everyone," says Marvelous Mommies marketing director Kelly Minton. "Again and again, we hear 'That's so true!' from our customers. They've been there, and they get a kick out of seeing their lives reflected in our cards."

Brenda Brathwaite, co-designer and writer for the greeting cards and a Professor at the Savannah College of Art and Design, said she was inspired to create the card by her own children. "We have twin toddlers. One day, I entered the living room to find everything on the floor - lights, pillows, and even couch cushions. That's when it occurred to me," laughed Brathwaite. "Within a week or two, it was on its way to a card design."

Other new cards target those having twins, mothers leaving their child at day care for the first time and those trying to potty train their children. "Like the rest of our line, they reflect the common experiences that families have," says Minton, "but we tend to have a funny take on everything we do."

Brathwaite, a mother of 3, and Minton, a mother of 1, launched Marvelous Mommies along with comic book artist Sean Wang in 2007 after testing their cards and ideas for months.
