August 31, 2007: WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mi. – Detroit-based electronics retailer Solid Signal has grown more than 1000 percent since its inception in 2002, and was just named #183 on Inc Magazine’s list of the country’s fastest growing companies.

Solid Signal expects to continue growth and double business in 2007, as well as add jobs to the Detroit area. Jerry Chapman founded the company by “accident.” He was looking for a special multi-switch, a new product on the market, and after having trouble locating the product through retailers, Chapman eventually got in touch directly with the manufacturer. Chapman asked if he could distribute the product and the manufacturer agreed – and so have many more.

The company now offers thousands of products from some of the most trusted and recognized brands in the world, including DIRECTV, Winegard and Channel Master.

“From day one, Solid Signal has been helping customers find products to solve problems and enhance technology,” Chapman said. “This philosophy and a focus on personalized advice and service has allowed for our fast growth.”

Because of continued growth, the company will soon be expanding to a new space in Novi, Michigan. The planned move will expand the current 6,000 square foot space in West Bloomfield to a 20,000 square foot space in Novi. In the new space, Solid Signal will provide fulfillment along with Internet retailing.

Solid Signal serves consumers and professional installers, offering products and advice to enhance technology. Listed as an Internet Retailer Top 500 company in 2006, Solid Signal has seen 2007 sales up 35-40 percent compared to last year.

Solid Signal was founded in 2002 to help customers find new solutions to enhance technology. The company offers satellite, outdoor antenna, consumer electronics and commercial media. Solid Signal customers have access to thousands of products to help distribute high-quality, digital audio and video to a variety of different media outlets, as well as personal advice for product selection. Solid Signal also provides advice for installation and troubleshooting to enhance customers’ experiences and is a CEDIA member, allowing the company to better serve professional installers.
