Amaze offers ‘FAST alternative’ to concerned FAST and Convera Customers

London, 30th August, 2007: Amaze, a web technology solutions company, is offering a safe option to customers of Norwegian FAST Search & Transfer who are facing uncertainty following FAST’s larger than expected second quarter losses and recent revenue restructuring. Known as ‘FAST alternative’, the programme is available immediately and will see Amaze use its expertise and knowledge of Autonomy’s, meaning-based computing platform IDOL, to guarantee business continuity for FAST and Convera customers.

On 8th August, FAST reported an operating loss of $37.8 million, down from last year's $3.9 million profit. Sales, meanwhile, came in at $34.1 million, down from last year's $38.5million, and around $20 million below analyst revenue expectations of $53.5 million to $57 million. These losses, combined with the company’s recent announcement of its change in revenue recognition policy, a $55m restructuring charge and significant lay-offs, has prompted many to question the stability and viability of the company.

‘FAST alternative’ is designed to help existing FAST customers examine options and ensure they have a solid future information management strategy and enterprise search platform. The programme offers several benefits including credits for investment in existing systems, collaborative forums, educational initiatives, reference materials, as well as enterprise search best practice workshops to learn about how to get the most out of information assets, to ensure support for both short and long term needs.

“It’s a worrying time for all FAST customers, who rely on the company’s real-time search and analysis functionality to do their jobs accurately and successfully,” commented Stuart Melhuish, CEO, Amaze. “By offering the ‘FAST alternative’ programme, we can work with customers to not only ensure business continuity but to suggest and implement new and innovative products and solutions that can improve their business efficiency.”
