Working together for a better future

With groups including lone parents, the homeless and the long-term unemployed, Training for Life has helped more than 9,000 people return to work. In a unique grass-roots level partnership, Training for Life’s trainees can now take advantage of tens of thousands of entry-level job vacancies provided by alternative employment resource, Fuse Jobs.

By tackling the issues affecting disadvantaged groups in London, this partnership of two of the UK’s most enterprising social initiatives is set to break barriers by ensuring those with little or no experience have full access to relevant employment opportunities.

“Training For Life does an amazing job of taking some of London’s most disaffected people and getting them back on the road to a better life” says Fuse Jobs Director, Amanda Lacey.

“But no one charity has the resources to make sure it’s clients can access all the relevant jobs across the Capital. By partnering with Fuse Jobs, all the trainers and advisors at Training For Life have our jobs and tailored advice at their fingertips while working with their clients. This means they can worry less about where to find the jobs and spend more time offering the face-to-face support they are so good at.”

Responding to a sector of endless government funded initiatives with hugely varying success rates, the results of this joint social enterprise initiative have been groundbreaking and have the potential to take the work of the sector to another level.
