CINCINNATI - The Thank You Foundation today announced that it has arranged for World Wrestling Entertainment's ECW® star CM Punk to visit veterans at the Cincinnati VA's Ft. Thomas Nursing Home / Domiciliary during the summer picnic for residents.

CM Punk will attend the picnic from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, September 1 to honor the veterans and sign autographs. Later that evening, he will perform at the WWE's SmackDown® and ECW event at Cincinnati's US Bank Arena at 7:30 p.m.

"I am extremely grateful to the WWE for helping us say 'thank you' to area veterans," said Rick Smith, The Thank You Foundation's Secretary/Treasurer. "You frequently hear about the WWE being supportive of our Armed Forces. To have someone of CM Punk's stature agree to take time out of his busy schedule to attend a local VA picnic demonstrates that the organization's dedication our brave men and women is very real."

CM Punk, also known as the Straightedge Superstar™, narrowly lost a controversial title match against ECW Champion John Morrison™ at the WWE SummerSlam event on August 26. CM Punk doesn't drink, smoke, or take drugs, and has relied on his disciplined training regimen and martial arts experience to reach the top ranks of wrestling. "He is exactly the type of guy Cincinnati-area veterans can relate to," added Smith.

Jim Breech, the former Cincinnati Bengals star placekicker, has also accepted The Thank You Foundation's invitation to honor veterans at the picnic. Thank You Foundation President John Guinn said, "Jim Breech has a sincere interest in America's Veterans. He and a number of other current and former Bengals have been great to work with and are great supporters of our veterans and the Foundation."

The Cincinnati VA has requested that if members of the public stop by the Ft. Thomas facility, they will need to remain at the edge of the event area, because on this day the picnic lunch and celebrities' attention are for the Veterans and invited guests.
