Southwest Actors Guide (SWAG), A New Magazine Launches for the Texas Film, Fashion, and Music Industry

San Antonio, TX, September 5, 2007. There may be several Texas based magazines taking up space at the local bookstore, but a new magazine is guaranteed to be apart from all the rest. Southwest Actors Guide, affectionately called SWAG, is a magazine for the Texas entertainment industry. SWAG concentrates, but is not limited to, the majorTexas markets such as San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, and Houston.

The periodical, which is slated to launch in October of 2007, is all-encompassing. Its target audience includes fi lmmakers, actors, singers, musicians, talent agents, dancers,
fashion designers, models, photographers, record labels, screenwriters, playhouses,
makeup artists, media outlets, film crew and many more people linked to the industry.

SWAG is the vision of native San Antonio actress Mary Robinson (27), who has a
background in journalism. The magazine is a spin off of an acclaimed newsletter that Robinson was editing for a networking group (SA Actors) and her talent agent, Rome Talent. “I was investing an incredible amount of hours for something that was being seen by a limited audience. Its potential became very clear to me early on, so I decided
to catapult it to the next level,” says Robinson. “I wanted to give exposure to performers who deserve to be seen. There is so much undiscovered talent here in Texas. Its a shame that most people don’t know about it.”

Indeed, other actors such as Laura Evans, star of the fi lm “Crush,” agrees that SWAG is long overdue. “With all of the talent out there, SWAG is just the thing that the creative people of Texas -actors, musicians, filmmakers, everyone - need to get synergized,” says Evans.

Articles will include hard hitting interviews, events coverage, expose pieces, performance techniques, expert advice, indie film and music reviews, exclusive photos, health and fitness, VIP parties, entertainment legal and financial information, and more.
The monthly issue will be available at local venues, including restaurants, playhouses, talent agents and more, over Texas, but concentrated in the Austin and San Antonio area.

Robinson wants to keep the periodical free at venues, but will charge a modest
fee of $12 to cover mailing costs if readers want the copy mailed directly to them. “I’d love SWAG to be free because I want it to be accessible to everyone.” Robinson is hoping that SWAG will be solely ad supported.

SWAG’s website, www.swagmag.net, is currently under construction were readers
can preview articles, but the magazine already has a presence on myspace at www.
myspace.com/southwestactorsguide.com. SWAG has plans for a launch party mid-
October in San Antonio.
