ZDON A NEW FACE TO MUSIC REIGNING FROM NIGERIA

Englewood, NJ (September 7, 2007) – Music artist Zdon is a new music revolution that is igniting through the airways of MTV Africa and Channel O. Zdon is a gifted and talented artist out of Nigeria who has captured the attention of many fans throughout the country.

Zdon grew up in affluence, enjoying the favor his father found with the government. However, this all ended when his parents’ marriage fell apart and his father refused to support his mother—and his children. Zdon went from eating with a silver spoon to not knowing where his next meal might come from. He, his brother, and his mother had to fend for themselves entirely, “Friends and family deserted us when my father turned his back on us,” he expresses on the emotional track, "No Shaking".

His creative writing and since of connecting with his heritage is what makes him such a force behind his music. His single “Old Africa” a song that is deep in its constitution. Zdon say’s, “When we were recording the song, we had the options of singing a chorus line to the rap verse but I insisted on the local Chants. These chants are the origin of rap music. A form of praise and singing that has been in existence for centuries”.

He is a tremendously gifted singer/rapper/songwriter/producer, who has already been tagged as the artist who will scope and shape the Nigerian music industry in 2007. He cannot wait for his music to reach American soil and he has legions of fans in Nigeria who would agree the excitement is real.
Zdon was just awarded the "Excellent Youth Performance Award” by all tertiary institutions in Ogun State and he was nominated as “R&B Artist of the Year” at the Nigeria Music Awards (NMA).
