Landmark Realty Group Produces DVD Showcasing a Year in Cashiers, N.C.
September 08, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business NewsCASHIERS, N.C. – (Sept. 8, 2007) – Landmark Realty Group has produced “The mountains are calling and I must go,” an 11-minute DVD showcasing a year in Cashiers and the town’s emergence as a leading retreat for both residents and visitors.
Narrated by Bob Dews of Laurelwood Mountain Inn, “The mountains are calling and I must go,” which is a quote from environmental activist and pioneer John Muir, walks viewers through a full year in the rustic, yet sophisticated town located in the southern Appalachians. He shows how to escape the hustle of everyday life by reconnecting with nature and discovering a new way to live in a town that is connected to the world, but is a world away.
The film highlights just a small portion of what Cashiers has to offer. Historic sites include the Zachary-Tolbert House, a 150-year-old historic building that was built by the settlers of Cashiers. It is also home to the world’s smallest post office.
Surrounding areas include Whitewater Falls and Lake Glenville, the tallest waterfall and highest lake east of the Mississippi River. There is also no shortage of magnificent mountain views, including those of Whiteside Mountain, the oldest mountain in the world according legend.
Outdoor activities are abundant, with endless opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, fishing, skiing and rafting. With average winter temperatures ranging from the 30s to mid 40s and a summer ambient temperature of 72 degrees, the Cashiers’ region is the perfect place for year-round outdoor activities.
For those seeking a little sophistication, Cashiers offers fine dining, lodging and unique antique and upscale shopping. As a world-class golf destination, 60 miles of golf fairway can be found just 20 minutes in any direction from the town’s crossroads. It also leads the nation in money generated per capita, and the people that make the town what it is join hands to support worthy causes.
“We originally planned a five-month production schedule for the DVD, but instead chose to follow the slower-paced lifestyle of the area,” said Jane Ebberts, Broker-in-Charge and Owner of Landmark Realty Group. “We knew that encompassing a full year of seasons and activities in this magnificent area was the only way to do it justice. When people can actually visualize and feel the lifestyle of Cashiers, they will realize that the mountains are calling them as well.”
Landmark Realty Group offers the complimentary DVD to anyone interested in discovering why Cashiers has become the destination of choice for both residents and visitors. A copy of the DVD can be requested on Landmark’s website at www.landmarkrg.com.
