CASHIERS, N.C. – (Sept. 8, 2007) – Landmark Realty Group has produced “The mountains are calling and I must go,” an 11-minute DVD showcasing a year in Cashiers and the town’s emergence as a leading retreat for both residents and visitors.

Narrated by Bob Dews of Laurelwood Mountain Inn, “The mountains are calling and I must go,” which is a quote from environmental activist and pioneer John Muir, walks viewers through a full year in the rustic, yet sophisticated town located in the southern Appalachians. He shows how to escape the hustle of everyday life by reconnecting with nature and discovering a new way to live in a town that is connected to the world, but is a world away.

The film highlights just a small portion of what Cashiers has to offer. Historic sites include the Zachary-Tolbert House, a 150-year-old historic building that was built by the settlers of Cashiers. It is also home to the world’s smallest post office.
