9/8/07 – JoomCommerce, a free forum for entrepreneurs, announced its grand opening today. With open avenues for businesses to advertise, share their insight, and give opinions on upcoming Joomla components.

“We wanted to know what people want in a shopping cart, but the ideas kept coming and market research turned into an online community” said Tony Schirmer, the spokesperson of JoomCommerce “I think this is a great concept, and only wish it’d been around when I started in building Joomla Stores.”

The forum features two mastermind groups, one for the development of e-commerce solutions for Joomla based businesses and one for online marketing idea creation. The mastermind groups are very exclusive, with the JoomCommerce developers limiting the positions available to only twenty people per mastermind.

An unofficial how-to wiki is being developed within the forum for any small businesses looking at using Joomla to run the back end of their small business website. The how-to will cover areas of installation, setup and initial marketing. If members feel they can contribute to any of these areas, they are encouraged to do so.

Small businesses running the Joomla content management system are encouraged to share their opinion, with the producers of the site in the making of new shopping cart software for the CMS.
