Mixed Plate Gets Virtual Makeover, Serves Up Tasty Product Reviews

September 09, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Lifestyle News
Mixed Plate, a go-to blog dishing everything trendy and affordable direct from their designer kitchen, sets a new place for itself this month with a virtual kitchen makeover and exciting mix of new daily specials.

Expert guest bloggers representing independent artists, designers and business people producing the latest must-haves in fashion, home, work and play, will serve up their favorite products and shaken-not-stirred advice. Today’s Color Is… will showcase a smorgasbord-style of images and products with a common color, pattern or theme. Friday Favorites will share Mixed Plate favorite product picks from the Mixed Plate fridge.

Mixed Plate fans can still count on their menu favorites, such as holiday and gift guides, exclusive specials and offers from participating vendors, and a continued focus on independent designers and handmade goods.

Liana Miyamura, founder and editor-in-chief, began Mixed Plate in 2006 as a way to share her excitement over new, handmade products and offer affordable advertising and reviews for small and Indie businesses. “As a small business owner myself, I realize how difficult it is to get noticed and be in business,” explained Miyamura. “I wanted to offer a place where I could help to promote others while sharing their amazing products with the world.”

And Miyamura’s free-refills attitude has brought high rankings for Mixed Plate, with an average of over 29,000 unique visitors per month. “When someone takes a one month ad out with Mixed Plate, I send them a list of questions so that we can create a feature for them,” said Miyamura. “This helps the readers get to know the designer a little better and helps bring recognition and brand awareness to the product.”
