Editor of Bauu Press, the publishing arm of the Bauu Institute, Dr. Peter N. Jones celebrates the launch of the “New Great Books” blog (http://newgreatbooks.blogspot.com). The blog highlights new books from independent publishers and emerging authors.

On the occasion, Dr. Jones remarked, “Small or independent publishers are continuing to face difficulties in getting their books onto the market. With the demise of local and small regional bookstores, local or self-published authors are also having a difficult time letting people know about their books. In order to help emerging and new authors, as well as small or independent publishers, the Bauu Institute and Press began publishing the New Great Books blog.”

The “New Great Book” blog is written as a form of community outreach to help small or independent publishers, as well as for those who want to find new and exciting books that are often not carried in the corporate bookstore chains.

The blog has already garnered a lot of attention, and several publishers and authors have already contributed. Books that have been featured include: Marketing Your Book DeMystified by Bruce Batchelor, How to Protect Your Family’s Assets from Devastating Nursing Home Costs by K. Gabriel Heiser, and A Cultural History of the Native Peoples of Southern New England by Moondancer and Strong Woman. Shedding more light on the nature of the blog, Dr. Jones said, “Although there are a number of blogs by particular authors, there is no blog that works as a central source for interested individuals when it comes to finding new, interesting books.”

With the “New Great Books” blog, Dr. Peter N. Jones hopes to reach out to people from all walks of life and to share great new books.
