OSOYOU.COM, the first social shopping website aimed at women, has teamed up with the UK's leading eating disorder charity BEAT in a bid to improve awareness of the organisation and its work in beating eating disorders. The partnership comes after OSOYOU.com went live with its beta site (7 September) and will feature promotion of Beat's healthy eating and body image campaigns both on site and at London Fashion Week, of which OSOYOU.com is an official sponsor.

OSOYOU.com's philosophy is about making the most of yourself through enjoyment of fashion, friends and fun – whatever your shape or size.

As such the site will be working closely with Beat to ensure that it monitors for any pro-anorexia messages or groups occurring on the social networking site.

OSOYOU will also support Beat as a charity and provide help links to its site.

Dawn Bebe, MD of OSOYOU.com, comments: "OSOYOU.com is the hottest web 2.0 start up to come out of London this year and we are proud to have teamed up with Beat to help the fight against eating disorders."

Susan Ringwood, Chief Executive of Beat says "OSOYOU has shown just what can be done - we know that fashion doesn't directly cause eating disorders, but it really can help to beat them. The Model Health Inquiry is an important first step, but we want to see it implemented. Everyone can be part of making it happen, as OSOYOU have shown."
