GrammaTech Announces CodeSonar Enterprise with Web-Based Defect-Management System

September 19, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Technology News
BOSTON, MA, Embedded Systems Conference–September 19, 2007–GrammaTech, a leading provider of source-code analysis tools, today announced CodeSonar Enterprise, the most significant product release since GrammaTech entered the automated defect-detection market. CodeSonar’s aggressive static-analysis engine will be paired with a web-based defect-management system and database, making it easy for large development teams to manage results.

Paul Anderson, VP of Engineering for GrammaTech, said, “We wanted to make it easier for development teams to integrate CodeSonar into their process. CodeSonar Enterprise provides features that help groups of engineers manage the results of their analysis in a coordinated way. For the first time, enterprise-level functionality, detailed analyses and high precision will all be available at a reasonable price point.”

With CodeSonar Enterprise, a user can limit his or her view, whether by module or warning class, to include only warnings of interest. Users can also tag warnings with state information and comments. Historical information is available so users can spot trends or pinpoint bugs introduced recently.

Several other advancements have been included with CodeSonar Enterprise. The underlying static-analysis engine has been improved, resulting in better accuracy. Parallelization of some analysis phases has reduced examination time. Better support for a variety of embedded compilers has been added.

About CodeSonar Enterprise
CodeSonar Enterprise performs a whole-program, interprocedural analysis on C/C++ code and identifies complex programming bugs that can result in system crashes, memory corruption and other serious problems. CodeSonar pinpoints problems at compile time that can be missed by traditional testing. With CodeSonar, developers detect and eliminate bugs early in the development cycle, when problems are easier and less expensive to fix. Furthermore, engineers avoid spending time finding defects that can be pinpointed quickly and simply with automated analysis. Leading organizations such as GE Aviation, Northrop Grumman, NASA and the FDA have adopted CodeSonar to improve software quality and reduce costs.

Pricing & Availability
CodeSonar 3.0 Enterprise will be available in early Q4 with pricing starting at $4,000 for small projects. Licenses for larger projects are priced based on the size of the project. CodeSonar Enterprise will be available for Windows, Linux, and Solaris hosts and many different development environments. Interested parties can request a free trial of CodeSonar 3.0 Enterprise by contacting GrammaTech at info@grammatech.com.
