New (Easier) Domain for New Easier Site with British Airways Silver Wing Sailing Club

June 20, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Sports News
The new online home of British Airways Silver Wing Sailing Club is now online. Featuring a simple flash layout, member-updateable features, and interactive pages for the visitor, the ultimate aim is to draw many new faces into the sport, and in particular our club.

Undertaking the task was committee designated, 16 year old, Gavin Pearce.

“I was honoured to be given the position, most especially considering my age, and fairly new status within the club – however the old site was fairly lacking, and I could see how a redeveloped site would quickly help draw new people into the sport, and was pleased I was given the chance to try out some of the many interesting ideas I had for it.

At the same meeting I also undertook the role of Youth Officer, to help develop a more active Youth Squad at the club, and I felt the website could help in a large way towards this.”

The website, making use of XHTML1.1 to W3C standards, and following the W3C-WAI Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 at a Triple-A level, reaching all Priority 1, Priority 2, and Priority 3 checkpoints, has created a unique online advert for the club, that is accessible by all.

We welcome all to the sport, and advise those who have never even thought about it to give it a go. It’s quite simply one of those things you have to try. Located in Wraysbury, just outside Staines (M25 Junc. 13) London, and Heathrow Airport, it is easily reachable by car or public transport. Please do give us a visit, and someone on site will be more than happy to show you around.
