Author C.A. Thomas has penned a wonderful new love story about Jesus and Mary Magdalene. Many call this work religious fiction, some call it absurd, and others call it history. No matter what your feelings, this love story is one for the ages. As the author and many others believe, Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married, had children, and traveled extensively through Israel as they taught the mysteries.

Excerpted from King & Queen
“The year of her betrothal to Yeshua had passed quickly and now Miriam waited anxiously for Yeshua to come and claim her. The entire year had been very intense both for Yeshua and Miriam. During the year as Miriam was preparing for her marriage she often wondered about Yeshua. He was such a handsome man and she had seen the other young girls who always sought to speak to him. She would often wonder why he chose her. Why was she the one he had chosen to marry? Why would he put forth the proposal to Syrus for her hand when there were so many other beautiful women from whom to choose? Her heart and soul was troubled by her doubt and insecurity which she kept hidden from him. Yeshua having just turned age 19 was still studying the Torah and was now preparing to celebrate the sacrament of marriage as was required of all young rabbis. A firstborn son was required to observe rabbinic law, to marry, and to produce sons as heirs to carry on the great tribal lineage. The betrothal period for Yeshua was one of preparation. He had prepared a place for Miriam at Joseph's house which had taken him most of the year to build. And it would be Joseph, the father of the groom, who would decide when the bridal chamber was ready. Yeshua had also stocked the huppah with provisions for it was customary that the couple would remain inside for seven days before the feasting began. The chamber was stocked with dried fruits, nuts, wine, and honeycomb and Yeshua had made sure that it was beautiful for Miriam.”

Reviews

“I love your simple writing style. Though I'm the scholarly type I was instantly enthused with your book of "fiction" after just the first paragraph. Your story drew me in with its simple romantic style. It feels like a Harlequin Romance, which as a young person I used to devour. I'm sure some critics will give you a hard time for accentuating the romantic angle, but I think you are doing a great thing to take Magdalene and Jesus' story and put it into romance form. I can think of so many women (and teenage girls) who are crying out for a book like this. It makes learning about the Jesus-Magdalene "history" fun! Making learning fun is the key to everything, in my opinion, and you are doing it with this book!
It is riveting with a simple elegance, your style of presenting the story. I was smiling and "feeling" with her through every thought and event. It was so cool the way you handled the water into wine story and the calling of Mary, "woman" by Jesus. I find myself wanting to read this out loud to my teenage niece (who lives with me). She is almost 19 and is very into the sacred feminine. I thoroughly enjoy reading your writing!”
