Mrs. Skiatook 2008 Crowned

DaLonna Hanlin of Skiatook was recently crowned Mrs. Skiatook International 2008. Hanlin will compete for the title of Mrs. Oklahoma International on May 11, 2008 at the Stillwater Community Center. Contestants of the Mrs. Oklahoma International pageant who are married, between the ages of 21 and 56 and are U.S. Citizens will compete in the areas of evening gown, aerobic wear and personal interview.

Hanlin, a collection manager, wife and mother, will promote her platform of Sexual Child Abuse Awareness during her reign as Mrs. Skiatook and if she should win the State or International crown. Hanlin, endured many years of sexual child abuse which she says affected her confidence over the years. ”I want t show others who have fallen victim to this terrible abuse that they can also be a survivor,” she says. “I want to help others to gain their confidence and to show them that they do matter in this world.”

Hanlin resides in Skiatook with her husband, Kevin, and their three children Alexa, 12; Aleah, 4; and Alex, 9 months. In her free time, she is a model and enjoys singing in the choir and singing specials in her church.

The Mrs. Oklahoma Pageant is the preliminary to the Mrs. International Pageant, which is held annually in Chicago, IL. The Mrs. International system was developed to promote today's married women, their accomplishments, and commitment to family and marriage. Around the world women are finding this system to be the opportunity to work with their husband and family to become positive role models.
