(Pasadena, CA)—On Sunday, October 7, support Hillsides by shopping or laughing or both. Hillsides Volunteer Network will host a silent auction prior to The Ice House’s anniversary comedy show that benefits Hillsides, a foster care children’s charity in Pasadena.

From 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., the Hillsides Volunteer Network, a support group for the children’s charity, will hold a silent auction featuring dozens of items, including fine jewelry, fashion accessories, gift baskets, DVD and CD boxed sets, fragrance collections, restaurant certificates, and more. The silent auction will be held on The Ice House's patio and everyone is welcome.

At 7:00 p.m., The Ice House in Pasadena, venue of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” will celebrate its 47th anniversary by presenting a great line-up of comedians all of whom are donating their time to help foster care children living at Hillsides. Show tickets are $35 plus the usual two-drink minimum.

The Ice House Comedy Club is the oldest operating comedy club in America. During its 47 years, The Ice House has featured stand-up comedy with such acts as Brad Garrett, George Carlin, Jay Leno, David Letterman, Rosie O’Donnell, Carlos Mencia and George Lopez.

“The Hillsides Volunteer Network truly appreciates owner of The Ice House, Bob Fisher, for his continued support of Hillsides,” said Karen Scott, president of Hillsides Volunteer Network. “The money raised from the auction and show goes to outings and special projects for the children of Hillsides.”

A long-time community supporter, Fisher has chosen Hillsides as the designated charity of The Ice House. For the past eight years Fisher has donated all of the proceeds of the anniversary show to Hillsides Volunteer Network, a volunteer group that makes a positive difference in the lives of foster care children by planning outings for them and offers financial support for Hillsides’ programs.
