During August 13-16, Metalux hosted a 4-day workshop, “Lubrication Specialist Intensive Training”, designed for lubrication maintenance and reliability personnel. Held at the Singapore Marriott Hotel, the workshop taught by Raymond Thibault, a veteran lubrication consultant, trainer and a Certified Lubrication Specialist.

Hosted annually by Metalux, the workshop focuses on providing participants with up-to-date and knowledge of lubrication fundamentals, theory and practice, and follows the training curriculum designed by Ray Thibault for those taking the Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS) certification exam by the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE). The key topics of the workshop include other information.

Mr. Wong Tze Ping of PSA Corporation Limited has extremely positive feedback on the workshop:
“Great Course, Great speaker, great content. A lot of ground covered in the few days, all very relevant to equipment maintenance and lubrication. If possible all engineers handling any equipment should attend as the knowledge and understanding picked up can prove invaluable in the course of work. Great networking opportunity as well in meeting industry specialists and learning from them.”

Claudia Sclosa of BP Australia comments: “Very well organised, excellent facilities and service. Presenter was well-informed and portrayed information well in a way that was easy to understand.”

Raymond Thibault is a lubrication consultant and trainer who retired in 2001 from Exxon after 31 years’ of service. A Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS) himself, Raymond is also certified Oil Monitoring Analyst (OMA) I & II. Raymond is a veteran CLS trainer who has conducted over 30 CLS classes over the past 3 years for the public, as well as for industry leaders such as ChevronTexaco, ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips, Citgo, Schaeffer’s, and Ispat Inland. Raymond also teaches a class on lubrication specifications at the annual STLE meeting and is also a contributing editor for Lubrication & Fluid Power magazine. He recently conducted a full day lubrication workshop at The International Maintenance Conference.

Lubrication Specialists play a vital role in proactive maintenance of the plant’s machinery by carrying out lubrication best practices to minimise maintenance costs and maximize uptime which contribute substantially to the organisation’s operating bottomline.
The course was followed by an optional CLS examination set by the STLE on the fifth day.
