June 22, 2005 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
Santa Monica, CA June 20, 2005 –Direct Market Ventures, Inc., (DMV), (www.terroralertsaferoom.com), announces the launch of its “Terror Alert Safe Room System™” as a credible emergency preparedness product developed in accordance with Homeland Security recommendations and will position the ‘Terror Alert Safe Room System’ as a television infomercial for public awareness, education, consumer sales and retail distribution.

DMV’s participation in the ‘National Preparedness Month 2005’ is a venture that the company believes will support their continuous efforts for emergency preparedness and public awareness. ‘National Preparedness Month 2005’ is a U.S. Department of Homeland Security program co-sponsored by the American Red Cross, as a nationwide effort to be held September 2005 to encourage Americans to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and schools. The goal of National Preparedness Month is to increase public awareness about the importance of preparing for emergencies and to encourage individuals to take action. DMV’s series of educational and televised infomercials create public awareness and encourages individuals to take action for emergency preparedness prior to September 2005.

The feasibility research conducted for the ‘Terror Alert Safe Room System,’ included a series of quality control tests, surveys, focus group programs and interviews with key scientists and researchers to determine that the developed safe room system, when properly deployed, would protect homes, offices, schools, apartments, hotel rooms, buildings, and public facilities from the threats of chemical and biological agents.

According to DMV’s founders, Kevin Finn and Preska Thomas, the feasibility studies for the ‘Original Terror Alert Safe Room System’, unveiled that the “Gas Barrier Sheeting’ helps provide protection against chemical attack by not allowing gas to pass through the sheeting”. Polyethylene sheeting, and regular plastic, which are typically used for the set up of many other safe rooms, are not considered gas barriers. The ‘Gas Barrier Sheeting’ is a gas barrier that compliments the use of duct tape, and ensures the proper flow of oxygen to the sealed room. The study also found that the bag of ‘Absorbing Powder’ was not harmful to adults, children, or pets, and also enabled the proper circulation of oxygen to a sealed room.

Preska Thomas quotes, “The combined use of the ‘Gas Barrier Sheeting’, ‘Absorbing Powder’, ‘Self Adhesive Securing Patches’ and ‘Securing Straps’ complements the use of duct tape. The ‘Terror Alert Safe Room System’ is emergency preparedness and protection against chemical and biological threats. “Kevin Finn” continues, “Much like a fire extinguisher or smoke alarm, every citizen, school, hotel and work place should have the "Original Terror Alert Safe Room System".
