Dr. Annie T. Varughese Named Medical Director of eCardio Diagnostics, LLC

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS, June 20, 2005 - Annie T. Varughese M.D., F.A.C.C., a board certified cardiologist and fellow of the American College of Cardiology, has been named medical director of eCardio Diagnostics, LLC. Based in The Woodlands, Texas, eCardio is a provider of advanced technology cardiac arrhythmia monitoring.

As medical director, Varughese oversees eCardio’s patient service initiatives and consults with physicians for whom eCardio provides a range of cardiac services, including cardiac event monitoring, digital holter monitoring and pacemaker follow-up. She continues to maintain an active cardiology practice at Advanced Cardiovascular Care Center in Houston.

Dr. Varughese, who received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, is an expert on cardiac arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms). She completed two years of residency in Internal Medicine at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta and one year in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston, where she also completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease.

Dr. Varughese participated in research projects focused on Hypertensive Heart Disease and Exercise Stress Testing. She has published in Circulation, Physician Sportsmed and Your Patient and Fitness, as well as various other publications.

Dr. Varughese is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Society. Dr. Varughese is a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and is an avid speaker regarding cardiovascular disease.
