Bartlesville, OK, - Oklahoma International Pageants are pleased to announce the Great Plains Country Regional preliminary pageant which will be held at the Altus City Auditorium on January 19, 2008. This pageant is an official preliminary to the Mrs. Oklahoma, Miss Oklahoma and Miss Teen Oklahoma International Pageants and 3 queens will be crowned that day.

The Oklahoma International Pageants which are official state preliminaries in the International Pageant system, are fairly new to Oklahoma. The Mrs. Oklahoma pageant was recently held for the first time since 2001 in Bartlesville. The Teen division (in its 6th year) and the Miss division (in its 5th year) have never been held in Oklahoma nor had a representative from the state.

Contestants of the Great Plains Country regional pageant will compete in the areas of platform based on-stage interview, aerobic wear and evening gown. Contestants in the Mrs. division must be married and between the ages of 21-56. Miss Oklahoma contestants must be between the ages of 19-29 and Miss Teen Oklahoma contestants must be between the ages of 13-18.

The International Pageant system has established itself as an organization with integrity, high ethical standards and consistent application of its rules and regulations. It is the goal of the state pageant organizers to provide women in Oklahoma the opportunity to compete in a pageant system that maintains the highest of moral values.

Whoever wins the regional pageant will represent Great Plains Country at the State pageants to be held in April and May at the Stillwater Community Center in Stillwater.
