VTK AND THE MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART OFFER AN EVENING OF ART, CULTURE AND…FOOD!

CHICAGO (June 2005) –VONG’S THAI KITCHEN™ (VTK), 6 West Hubbard, Chicago, has teamed up with the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) to spotlight Dan Flavin’s exhibition, “A Retrospective.” On Tuesday, July 12th at 6 p.m., guests will follow a private tour led by an MCA educator, then meet at VTK to enjoy a four-course prix-fixe dinner, prepared by Chef Arnie Tellez.

Guests of the evening will experience Flavin’s exhibition, which consists almost entirely of fluorescent tubes in nine colors and five shapes. From 6 – 6:45 p.m., an MCA educator will guide them through the tour and discuss his bright, innovative works and excellent use of light. At 7:30 p.m., guests will enjoy a prix-fixe dinner, which complements Flavin’s vibrant exhibition.

For this evening of art and culture, guests can enjoy a colorful menu, which includes choices in each category. Guests will begin with VTK’s signature appetizer, the Black Plate, which will be served family style and includes: Crusted Shrimp Satay, Tuna Sashimi Roll, Chicken Scallion Satay, Pekin Duck Roll, VTK Rocket Roll. Following the appetizer, each guest will be served the Mixed Leaf Salad, which is tossed with ginger vinaigrette. For the entrees, choices include: Panang Curry Chicken; Miso Glazed Salmon, Fiery Red Pepper Shrimp or Chicken Pad Thai. For desserts, guests can select from Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake or the Spiced Apple Cheesecake. To complement the meal, VTK offers its signature cocktails, the Mango-Tini or VTK’s number one selling drink, The Red Passion, which are both included.

The exhibition and prix-fixe dinner package is priced at $75 per person, which includes the exhibition tour, tax and gratuity.
