Mike Gaughan, a partner in three RE/MAX offices in Sumner County, TN and Broker-in-Charge for Fairvue Plantation, has been installed as President of the Tennessee Association of Realtors (TAR), the second largest trade association in the state. TAR provides educational services, news and RSS feeds, and acts as the legislative advocate for its 29,000 members across the state. Gaughan will officially begin his one-year term in mid-November.

Gaughan, a lifelong resident of Hendersonville, TN, graduated from Memphis State University with an engineering degree. In 1987, he and his wife, Lindy, both decided to end successful careers to dedicate themselves to building their own real estate firm. Through much hard work and an unshakeable commitment to serving their community, the Gaughans have been recognized for excellence numerous times over their 20 year real estate career. As managing Broker of RE/MAX Choice Properties, Mike has twice received the RE/MAX Broker/Owner of the Year Award (1997 & 2000). He was also named Hendersonville’s “Businessman of the Year” in 1999 and was honored by the Sumner County Commissioners in 2000 for his extensive efforts to improve the county’s quality of life.

It is little wonder that when Leon Moore and Chris Wicke were searching for a true sales professional to head up all sales and marketing for Fairvue Plantation, Nashville’s only lakeside country club community, Mike and his team were the obvious choice. “We are thrilled to be part of Fairvue Plantation. It is one of the most impressive community developments taking place anywhere in the country,” says Gaughan. “We have agents onsite to assist potential buyers looking to build their dream home on some of the most spectacular land in the area.”
