October 23, 2007 - Pamela Kelly received the IRWIN Book Award for “Speak with Passion, Speak with Power!”, on Thursday evening at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City. Pamela’s award was presented by popular former newscaster and now avid mystery writer, Kelly Lange.

The Irwin Award was created by the Book Publicists of Southern California, founded by Irwin Zucker, with offices in Hollywood, for “Industry Recognition of Writers in the News.” “Speak with Passion, Speak with Power!” is based on Pamela’s teaching communication skills the world over, working with thousands of professionals in corporations, government agencies and academic institutions, including California State Universities, in Long Beach, Northridge and Dominquez Hills, and UCLA Extension, where she is a “Master Teacher”. Pamela describes her book as “the cream that rose to the top of 30 years of teaching.” It guides you along a time-tested path that transforms inexperience and the fear of public speaking into energy, know-how and results. “In other words,” she explains, “it gets you on you feet and in action, facing and moving past your fears.”

In presenting the award, Lange said, “Pamela will go to almost any extreme to help individuals improve their speaking ways. Recently she returned to her hometown of Clinton, Tennessee for a book-signing at the local library, resulting in her book getting into the hands of the Commissioner of Education in Tennessee!” In her acceptance speech, As head of Pamela Kelly Communications in Long Beach, Pamela shared her vision of “Speak with Passion, Speak with Power!” being used in high school, college and university classes – “to nip this number one fear in the bud and prepare students for the real world of job interviews, business presentations and for using communication to solve problems and build bridges among people.”

Currently, “Speak with Passion, Speak with Power! can be purchased on the websites, ,, and
www. and will soon be in the Barnes and Noble, Borders and other bookstores.
