DriveClone Software Now Migrates Data to any Hard Drive Configuration

October 25, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Business News
FarStone Technology has released DriveClone 3.5 Pro (www.farstone.com/software/driveclone-pro.htm), the latest version of its flagship data backup and hard drive imaging software.

New features include:

- Universal Restore: Allows the migration of an entire system to dissimilar hardware, regardless of hard drive size, installed drivers, and manufacturer

- USB Hot Drive: Lets a user run a disk image saved on USB hard drive as a local hard drive. This keeps a computer operable, even if the system hard drive fails

ABOUT DRIVECLONE PRO

DriveClone Pro makes an exact copy of a hard drive, including system settings and partition information, and saves it as a compressed disk image to DVD, to a network share, or to an external hard drive.

The disk image can be used to restore a system after a hard failure or a Windows crash, or it can be transferred to another hard drive for an easy hardware upgrade.

DriveClone Pro adds another layer of protection with automatic file version backup and system snapshots saved to a protected partition of the local hard drive. These offer quick restore points for software-related data disasters.

All backups — hard drive images and systems snapshots alike — are kept current with scheduled incremental updates, which add new layers of information to existing data.

DriveClone Pro retails for 59.99. It may be purchased at www.farstone.com and through select FarStone resellers. Universal Restore, which is often sold as an add-on with competitor products, is included in the base version of DriveClone 3.5 Pro.
