Airfoil Public Relations, Inc., today announced the addition of Laura Kelleher as vice president of operations. Kelleher will oversee the areas of finance, information technology, legal, human resources and general operations at Airfoil, an independent public relations agency specializing in public relations and marketing communications for both leading and emerging companies.
“Airfoil Public Relations is fortunate to gain the talents of Laura Kelleher”, said Airfoil President Janet Tyler. “Her organizational and technological expertise are great assets to our team. As our agency continues its rapid growth, the addition of Higher Thinkers like Laura ensures that we will sustain our positive momentum well into the future.”
In her new position, Kelleher draws on 20 years of corporate and higher-education experience. As a true Internet pioneer, Kelleher began her career in the mid-’80s with Merit Network, Inc., a not-for-profit organization responsible for building the academic Internet and bringing national networking to a wider audience. While at Merit Network, Kelleher presented to hundreds of national and international organizations and co-authored Navigating the Internet—a Merit Network Cruise, an interactive multimedia tour used worldwide.

”I am pleased to be joining Airfoil Public Relations,” said Kelleher. “As a former client of Airfoil, I have always been impressed with the high caliber of its public relations professionals. Now, as a member of the Airfoil team, I get an opportunity to work with these outstanding professionals everyday.”

Previously, Kelleher worked for Ameritech, where she directed, planned, and implemented its $14 million program to connect 450 K-12 schools to the Internet. Kelleher was awarded the Ameritech Most Valuable Performer Award. As a member of the Ameritech Chairman’s Committee, she played a pivotal role in the development of Ameritech’s data strategies and service offerings, including e-commerce, Internet Yellow Pages, and Web hosting.

Most recently she served as a consultant for the University of Michigan Orders Management Project, a $75-million project to implement computerized physician order entry to improve the quality and safety of patient care.

Following her tenure at Ameritech, she served in a number of capacities at Fry, Inc., including chief processes officer, director of client services and vice president of marketing and business development. Fry, Inc. is a current Airfoil client and one of the top-20 e-business integrators in the United States. Kelleher holds a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Michigan.
