Airfoil Public Relations Sustains Momentum with New Hires and Promotions

November 23, 2006 (PRLEAP.COM) Media News
Airfoil Public Relations, Inc., specialists in public relations and marketing communications for both leading and emerging companies, announced that it has expanded its business-to-business (B-to-B) group with three new hires: Erica Stoddard, senior account executive; Brian Barthelmes, account executive; and Rebecca Wagner, assistant account coordinator. Airfoil has also promoted Leah Haran from account manager to account director in the agency's business-to-consumer (B-to-C) group, while Patrick McLaughlin and Kevin Sangsland were promoted from account supervisors to account managers in the business-to-business practice.

Erica Stoddard, a senior account executive, brings seven years of experience in automotive, mortgage and insurance services to Airfoil. Prior to joining Airfoil, Stoddard was the media relations manager for GMAC Mortgage and Ditech.com where she managed national and trade media relations. Previously, Erica worked as a communications specialist for the General Motors Family First program at GMAC Mortgage, and was an assistant account executive at MS&L Detroit, where she worked onsite at GMAC Insurance and GMAC Financial Services. Stoddard earned a bachelor of arts degree from Western Michigan University in public relations/communications.
Brian Barthelmes, an account executive, has joined Airfoil from Kolt Communications, where he developed such local events as Lansing's Olympic Torch Relay Celebration, and Michigan's New DARE program. An accomplished and published writer, he has authored multiple articles, speeches, award- winning brochures and advertising materials. Barthelmes has also executed public relations programs for a variety of elected public officials and government offices. Barthelmes holds a bachelors degree in advertising with specialization in public relations from Michigan State University.

Rebecca Wagner is an assistant account coordinator in Airfoil’s business-to-business group. Before joining Airfoil, Wagner held internships at Cleveland-based public relations agencies Dix & Eaton and Robert Falls & Co. Wagner is a graduate of John Carroll University with a B.A. in communications.
Airfoil’s growth is further reflected by the promotions of Haran, McLaughlin and Sangsland. Since joining Airfoil in 2005 Haran has helped sustain the rapid growth of the B-to-C group, managing several consumer marketing accounts and providing day-to-day project management and account support as well as strategic counsel and planning. McLaughlin, at Airfoil since 2002, supports the momentum of the agency’s B-to-B side with the development and implementation of several media campaign strategies, media relations, partner relationship management and proactive story placement campaigns, among other activities. Sangsland joined Airfoil’s B-to-B practice group in 2004. He manages corporate, competitive, and product-focused public relations programs, specializing in positioning client technologies and services for the small to medium business space.
