HOUSTON, TX – Houston boutique PR firm Bayou City Public Relations will lead publicity efforts for Houston-area Massage Envy clinics, when local franchisees give away hundreds of free massages during a day-long charity event to benefit Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Houston affiliate.

Massage for the Cure day is slated for September 10 at all Houston-area Massage Envy clinic locations. There are currently seventeen clinics in the greater Houston area. More than twenty locations will be open by September.

“We are excited about leading publicity efforts for this outstanding event,” said Sharon Dotson, president of Bayou City Public Relations. “This is the first year for Massage for the Cure in Houston, and our franchisees are planning many more. We look forward to an annual event.”

Dotson said each independently-owned Houston-area Massage Envy clinic will take appointments for the day-long charitable event beginning in August. “Although massages will be free, donations to the Susan G. Komen Houston-affiliate will be gratefully accepted,” she said.

“People see this as a great way to relax and unwind, and to help a worthwhile cause at the same time.”

Dotson said the Massage for the Cure event has been a fundraising success in other cities, including Phoenix, St. Louis and Denver. “Now, Houston is proud to join the mix,” she said. “Houston has one of the largest concentrations of Massage Envy clinics in the nation,” she said.
