EMG Proudly Sponsors Eco-Driven Racers
September 16, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Media NewsIrvine, CA – Earthbound Media Group (EMG) is proud to announce its co-sponsorship of two students from who will be competing in the upcoming 6th Annual Extreme Green Race in Lake Tahoe. On September 29, college seniors Rich Dantes & Greg Vehlies will participate in the 100% emissions-free gravity race, competing alongside participants ranging from other college students, professional engineers, and automotive manufacturers such as Mazda, Bentley and Aston Martin.
Vehlies and Dantes were previously selected by The Art Institute – Orange County to design and construct a gravity-powered racecar; however, a lack of sponsorship was threatening the completion of the car and the students’ ability to compete in the race. EMG was eager to support Vehlies, Dantes and the Green Race and stepped in as the primary contributor, providing the students with the support needed to purchase building materials to produce a unique and eco-innovative gravity car.
According to Damien Navarro, EMG Principal and VP of Business Development, “EMG felt this was a perfect opportunity to support two core causes at once—the futures of students that have shown impressive talent in design and engineering as well as the ability to raise public awareness on new, eco-friendly extreme sports activities.”
