GLORIA DANIELS, CEO, DIAMOND DEANE & DANIELS COMMUNICATIONS GROUP RETURNS TO CHICAGO TO PAY TRIBUTE TO HER 40 YEAR MENTOR
September 25, 2007 (PRLEAP.COM) Media NewsLos Angeles, California – Special Events and Public Relations guru, Gloria Daniels returns from Los Angeles to her roots of Chicago on Friday, September 21 to the University of Chicago to participate in a tribute to her 40 year mentor, Dr. Gloria Jackson Bacon. Dr. Jackson-Bacon is a 2007 Purpose Award Winner, and founder of Project 18. Dr. Bacon gave Gloria her first job at a 17,000 patient medical center she founded in the Altgeld Gardens housing projects on the far Southside of Chicago.
Daniels credits Bacon as the mentor who helped her lay a foundation for success. Daniels rose through the ranks of Corporate America as a global Vice President of a world-wide corporation and founded her own successful integrated marketing communications company fifteen years ago. PROJECT 18, founded by Bacon in 2004 and the premise for her winning the Purpose Award, a new concept in urban education, is a nonprofit program that decreases the negative behaviors and emotions that parents demonstrate in their interactions with their children and encourages positive behaviors and emotions that help facilitate supportive, parent-child relationships. The program teaches parents to teach their children how to reach obtainable goals by the age of 18.
Daniels is scheduled as a guest speaker on the program and a advisor on the benefit, which also celebrates of Dr. Bacon’s 70th birthday. Bacon has asked that instead of gifts, contribution be made to Project 18.
